Living in Kyiv

Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine. This city is located on the Dnipro River. Almost three times as many people live in Kyiv as in Edmonton.  Kyiv is very far from our city. When it is 9:00 a.m. in Edmonton,  it is 6:00 p.m. in Kyiv. In 2012,  the European Football Championship – Euro 2012 was held in Kyiv. The city has many plants and factories. There is a famous confectionery factory “Roshen”. Kyiv is very large. There are 51 metro stations. In Edmonton, there are 16 stations.

Living in Lviv

This city is located in the western Ukraine. It is very large. Lviv is the 7th  largest city in Ukraine. 725 thousand people live their. A lot of tourists come to visit the city. There are 26 universities; that is why there is a great number of students. Many festivals take place in Lviv. One can also visit the Museum of Lard there.

Living in Lutsk

Lutsk is located in the western Ukraine. 217 thousand people live there. In Lutsk, there are a lot of music and arts festivals. Lesya Ukrainka, a prominent poetess and a writer, lived there.  Many temples and churches were built there. Peter and Paul church has an underground complex, which you can see below.

The city is located in the Transcarpathian region. It is a home to 86,000 people. Nature in Mukacheve is spectacular.

Living in Uzhhorod

The city is located on the river Uzh. This is where the name of the city comes from. Uzhhorod is located near the border with Slovakia. This city is situated in the  Carpathian mountains. There is a large university in Uzhhorod. Wine, furniture, and shoes are being produced there as well.

Living in the Village of Velykyi Khutir

This is how Velykyi Khutir looks like. The village is very small. There are 980 houses. One school, bank, post office and museum are located in Velykyi Khutir.

There is a church in the village. It is very big. 2,500 people live in Velykyi Khutir. They go to church on Sundays and holidays.
